SIMO

Born and raised on Chicago’s South Side, JD Simo grew up in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood above his father’s bar, The Store, and began playing guitar at four or five years old, gigging in local venues such as Blues on Halstead and Kingston Mines and earning money by the time he was in seventh and eighth grade; after moving to Nashville, he formed the power‑trio SIMO in 2010, leading the group as guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and producer while also building a solo career and earning session and production credits with artists ranging from Jack White and Beyoncé to Stevie Nicks and Phil Lesh.
