Fuchsia is a cult-favorite British band that carved out a whimsical niche in the late '60s/early '70s psychedelic folk-prog scene. Formed by songwriter/guitarist Tony Durant while studying at Exeter University, the group blended medieval-tinged melodies, lush orchestration (thanks to a string trio), and surreal storytelling into their 1971 self-titled debut. Though the album initially flew under the radar, its baroque charm and haunting tracks like "The Nothing Song" earned it a dedicated following over decades. Fuchsia’s story took an unexpected twist when Durant revived the project in 2013 with new collaborators, leading to 2020’s "Fuchsia II : From Psychedelia to a Distant Place," which rekindled their signature blend of pastoral psychedelia and literary flair for both original fans and new listeners.
