Grand Slam

Grand Slam is a rock band originally formed in 1984 by Phil Lynott, the legendary frontman of Thin Lizzy, after that band’s breakup. The group grew out of Lynott’s solo band and featured a mix of new songs alongside select Thin Lizzy classics, such as "Whiskey In The Jar." Although Grand Slam had a brief initial run due to Lynott’s death in 1986, their music left a lasting impression with a focus on freedom, positivity, and adrenaline-driven rock. The band was revived in 2016 by original members like guitarist Laurence Archer and keyboardist Mark Stanway, blending their original energetic spirit with fresh material for both recorded releases and live performances.

The modern incarnation of Grand Slam continues to honor the band’s roots while introducing new anthems to their repertoire. Laurence Archer, a key figure in both the original and revived lineups, leads the current band with a commitment to maintaining the classic rock ethos that made Grand Slam unique. Their recent releases, including tracks like "Whiskey In The Jar" and "Hit The Ground," reflect this mix of legacy and innovation, keeping the band’s legacy alive for new generations of rock fans.
