Cairokee

Cairokee is an influential Egyptian rock band that emerged from Cairo’s underground music scene in the early 2000s. They are renowned for their socially and politically poignant lyrics, which have resonated with a generation of young Egyptians, especially during the socio-political upheavals of the Arab Spring. Their sound combines the grit of rock with the melodic intricacies of Middle Eastern music, giving them a unique style that transcends cultural barriers and appeals to a diversity of listeners.

The band, composed of lead vocalist Amir Eid, lead guitarist Sherif Hawary, drummer Tamer Hashem, bassist Adam El-Alfy, and keyboardist Sherif Mostafa, has been at the forefront of the Egyptian rock renaissance, galvanizing fans with their raw, emotive energy. Albums such as "El Sekka Shemal" and "Nas W Nas" have cemented their reputation, with their recent releases, including "Telk Qadeya," "أحلامنا," and "El Shawarea Hawadeet," continuing to uphold their critical and commercial success. Through music that often tackles issues of freedom, justice, and personal struggles, Cairokee has carved out a distinct space in the Middle Eastern music landscape, inspiring a new wave of socially conscious artistry.
