Water Machine

Water Machine is an eccentric art-punk band that emerged from Glasgow in 2022, quickly making waves with their wonky, energetic sound and sing-along songs about everything from dogs to the housing crisis. The group originally formed as a lockdown project, initiated by vocalist Hando Morice alongside Flore de Hoog and guitarist Jimmy Gage, with the lineup later expanding to include drummer Nicky Duncan, Ellie, and Baby. Their music combines pop sensibilities with punk urgency, drawing inspiration from diverse influences such as The Pastels, Pavement, and LiLiPUT, often flirting with chaos while delivering sharp social commentary and quirky storytelling.

Signed to Fat Cat Records, Water Machine has earned acclaim from notable figures like Henry Rollins and BBC Radio 6 Music’s Marc Riley, building a dedicated following through energetic live shows and a distinctive sound that blends melodic bass lines with volatile guitar riffs and occasional fiddle. Their debut album, *God Park*, released in June 2025, showcases their unique style — music that feels both fragile and fierce, reflecting the spirit of Glasgow's rich musical heritage. The band's playful yet poignant narratives and lively performances continue to captivate audiences across the UK and Europe, making them a standout act in the contemporary punk and indie scene.
