Les Discrets is a French shoegaze and post-rock band that artistically blurs the lines between music, visual art, and storytelling. The project is the brainchild of Paris-based artist Fursy Teyssier, who is renowned for his work as a graphic designer and animator as well as a musician. Les Discrets emerged on the music scene with their first album, "Septembre et ses dernières pensées," in 2010. This album, with its lush soundscapes and introspective lyrics, quickly garnered attention and established the band's presence in the realm of atmospheric and ambient music.
Following their evocative debut, Les Discrets continued to release music that stitched together a tapestry of post-metal, folk, and avant-garde elements. The 2012 release, "Ariettes oubliées...," delved deeper into the ethereal and melancholic, cementing their reputation for crafting music that is both emotionally resonant and sonically expansive. With the 2017 album "Prédateurs," Les Discrets took a more minimalistic and electronic turn, demonstrating Teyssier's versatility and willingness to evolve his sound. Other significant works, including the "Split EP" contributions and the live recording at the prestigious Roadburn Festival titled "Live at Roadburn," showcase the band's ability to captivate both studio and live audiences. "Rue Octavio Mey / Fleur des Murailles" and "Virée nocturne" continue to express the project's ongoing thematic interests in nature, existentialism, and personal journeys through a fusion of expansive sound palettes and narrative-laden lyrics.
