Carl-Bertil Agnestig (originally Andersson) was a beloved Swedish music teacher and composer, born on March 7, 1924, in Järvsö Parish, and he passed away on July 14, 2019. Growing up, his family moved from Järvsö to Småland and eventually settled in Nacka outside Stockholm during his teenage years, where he kicked off singing lessons in the late 1940s at Nacka Music School and went on to earn a Master's in Music Education.
He's best known for his charming choral works, especially those with a festive twist like traditional Christmas tunes—check out albums such as *God jul! - Traditionell julmusik och dans kring granen* and *Agnestig året runt*, which capture that cozy Swedish holiday vibe with groups like Nackabarnen and Marcus Österdahls Kör & Orkester. Agnestig's music brought joy to choirs and classrooms, blending education with heartfelt melodies that still light up the season.
