Moderat

Moderat is a German electronic music supergroup that was formed in 2002 as a collaboration between Modeselektor (Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary) and Apparat (Sascha Ring). The trio hit the sweet spot between the driving, club-ready beats of Modeselektor and the emotive, intricate soundscapes of Apparat, resulting in a style that melds together IDM, techno, ambient, and glitch elements while maintaining a melodically rich and accessible core. Their name—an amalgamation of their two acts—aptly symbolizes the synthesis of their distinct musical sensibilities.

Their collaboration started with an EP in 2003, but it wasn't until 2009 that Moderat released their critically acclaimed self-titled debut album. The group's sonic evolution continued with subsequent releases 'II' in 2013 and 'III' in 2016, each progressively refining their fusion of haunting melodies and propulsive rhythms. After a hiatus, they returned with the album 'MORE D4TA' in 2022, showcasing yet another elevation in their craft. Alongside their studio albums, Moderat is also known for their electrifying live performances, as captured in their 'Live' recording, which pays testament to their prowess in translating sophisticated, intricate productions into crowd-stirring concert experiences. As of my knowledge cut-off date, they continue to push boundaries, release remixes and fresh interpretations like 'More Love (Rampa &ME Remix)', ensuring their sound remains at the forefront of the electronic music scene.
