Flowers Taped To Pens

Flowers Taped To Pens were a DIY screamo band hailing from San Diego, California, who started making music together in 2013 and called it quits a few years later. The band was centered around siblings Connie and Ethan Sgarbossa, and their sound was a blend of chaotic, lo-fi screamo with dreamy, twinkly emo guitar work—think clean vocals, strained screams, and plenty of youthful energy. They recorded most of their stuff in a garage, giving their releases like Nice To Meet You, I Hate You and s/t a rough-around-the-edges charm that resonated with fans of the skramz and emo scenes.

Though their run was short, Flowers Taped To Pens left a mark with a handful of tapes, splits, and LPs, and members went on to play in other notable bands like SeeYouSpaceCowboy and Staining The Twilight Black. Even after disbanding, their music stayed alive on Bandcamp and streaming platforms, a testament to the lasting appeal of raw, emotional DIY punk.
