Bárður á Lakjuni, born in 1978 in Fuglafjørður, Faroe Islands, is a singer-songwriter, teacher, and politician known for his eclectic musical projects. A graduate of Føroya læraraskúla (2006), he works as a schoolteacher while maintaining an active music career spanning folk, alternative genres, and collaborative theatrical productions. He co-founded the a cappella group Salt (2000–2008) and leads the genre-blending band Tollarar og Syndarar, which mixes polka, rock, and pop. His 2012 album *Gakk Tú Tryggur*, created with his father Jógvan á Lakjuni, features Faroese psalms and poetry, while *Lívsins Dansur* (2020) marked his solo debut with introspective themes on life's fragility.
Bárður lives in Leirvík with his wife and four children, balancing music with political work as a Faroese MP (elected 2022). His performances—ranging from Leonard Cohen covers to original compositions—often intertwine storytelling with genre experimentation, reflecting his upbringing in a musically rich household.
