Nuzzle

Nuzzle was an influential emo band active primarily in the 1990s, rooted in the West Coast music scene. Originating around 1991 in Rosemead, California, the band eventually settled in Santa Cruz, where the core lineup—Nate Dalton (guitar), Andrew Dalton (vocals), Simon Fabela (bass), and Ricardo Reano (drums)—crafted a sound blending the dynamic hard/soft guitar style influenced by Nirvana and the melodic intensity of early R.E.M. Known for their heartfelt lyrics and a sound that combined pop sensibilities with chaotic emo energy, they became part of a vibrant scene alongside bands like Evergreen, Unwound, and Bikini Kill. Their debut LP, *Follow, For Now* (1995), remains a key release in their catalog, recently reissued on vinyl in 2025, celebrated for its raw emotive power and distinct 90s underground ethos.

The band toured extensively across the U.S., becoming staples in the west coast emo and post-hardcore community, gracing stages with a variety of influential contemporaries. Nuzzle’s music encapsulated the spirit of the 90s emo movement and left a lasting impression despite their dissolution around 2001. Their sound is characterized by both a sonic grit and melodic nuance, making them a beloved cult favorite with a renewed following thanks to recent reissues and archival releases.
