Signal 99

Signal 99 is a metal band from New Mexico, formed by Chuck Haven in late 2005 initially as a solo project. By 2006, it evolved into a trio with Chuck's brother Hank Haven joining as the bassist. The band gained recognition for their unique performances, often wearing gas masks on stage, symbolizing themes of struggle and resilience. Signal 99 has enjoyed notable success, including performances at the South by Southwest Music and Media Conference and local prominence with performances like the Navajo Nation Metal Fest. They have also shared stages with major bands and received nominations for Native American Music Awards. Hank Haven left the band in 2013 due to health issues, and the band has since continued with new members, remaining dedicated to their anti-hate message and energetic live shows.

Signal 99's music blends hard rock vocals with a punk-infused metal sound, emphasizing powerful lyrics and a strong anti-hate message. They have a solid following across the Southwest, known for their dynamic live performances and consistent touring schedule. Despite facing challenges and member changes, Signal 99 remains a vibrant part of the regional music scene.
