THE BAWDIES are a Japanese rock band known for their retro-inspired sound that fuses 1960s-style rock and roll, rhythm and blues, and garage rock. Formed in 2004, the band consists of longtime friends Roy (bass/vocals), Taxman (guitar/vocals), Jim (guitar/keyboard), and Marcy (drums). With a deep love for classic American rock and soul, they've gained a devoted following in Japan and abroad for their high-energy performances and sharp vintage fashion sense.
They broke into the mainstream with their 2009 album "THIS IS MY STORY," produced by Andy Gill of Gang of Four, and have since released multiple successful albums and singles. Known for their passion for analog sound and tight, catchy tunes, THE BAWDIES continue to evolve while keeping the spirit of old-school rock and roll alive. Their recent work, including singles like "COME ON, LET'S PARTY" and "GIMME GIMME feat. OKAMOTOSHO," shows they're still crafting upbeat, retro-flavored tunes for their global fanbase.
