Bobby Amaru is an American singer, songwriter, and producer best known as the lead vocalist of the rock band Saliva, which he joined in 2012, replacing former singer Josey Scott. Before fronting Saliva, Amaru was a drummer for the band Burn Season and led his own solo project called Amaru. He grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, where he was deeply influenced by rock bands like Mötley Crüe, Alice in Chains, and Soundgarden, and cut his teeth in the local underground scene, building a grassroots following.
Amaru's journey in music began as a drummer but he transitioned to being a frontman because he enjoys engaging with audiences directly. Over the years, he's contributed to evolving Saliva’s sound while maintaining their powerful rock edge, and he has also gained attention for collaborations with his daughter, Veda, such as their 2025 cover of "Somebody's Watching Me". Known for his gritty yet melodic vocal style, Bobby blends his musical past and present with passion and authenticity, continuing to tour and release new music with Saliva and his own projects.
