Horrenda

Horrenda is an experimental black metal band from Dublin, Ireland, originally started as a solo studio project by Darragh “Outis” O’Connor in 2015. The project blends raw black metal with depressive suicidal black metal (DSBM), death metal, and atmospheric ambient influences, aiming to push the genre into something uniquely atmospheric and intense. Over time, Horrenda evolved into a full band, incorporating members like Arron “Nomad” O’Shaughnessy on lead vocals, Daniel K. “Cruxx” Heafy on drums, and others, which helped develop their live performances into highly intense and visceral experiences.

Their sound is rooted in Norwegian black metal but embraces a wide range of influences to create a distinctive and uncompromising style. Horrenda’s 2020 album *Díoltas* (which means “Revenge” in Irish) was critically acclaimed, fusing Irish mythology and history with fierce metal aggression. In 2024 and 2025, they released *Think On Your Sins* and *Díoltas* physically in the U.S., expanding their reach internationally. Known for blistering riffs, guttural vocals, and a dark, atmospheric approach, Horrenda continues to deliver visceral, intense music that stands out in Ireland’s metal scene and beyond. They actively tour and aim to ensure that every metal fan gets to experience their powerful sound live.
