**The Art Gray Noizz Quintet** is the wild noise rock outfit led by Aussie punk legend Stu Spasm (aka Stuart Gray or Art Gray), the chaotic force behind Lubricated Goat, Crunt, The Beasts of Bourbon, and more, now tearing it up in New York with ex-members from bands like Woman and Live Skull. Formed in 2015 as a one-off supergroup for the afterparty of the Amphetamine Reptile doc *The Color of Noizz*, they stuck around thanks to killer gigs opening for The Scientists, Mudhoney, and Unsane, plus backing no-wave icon Lydia Lunch—including one of NYC's last pre-pandemic shows in March 2020.
Their sound? Frenetic punk-meets-noise with gritty riffs, savage rhythms, and horns gone rogue, starring Skeleton Boy on two-string bass, Bloody Rich Hutchins on drums, Grace Bergere on guitar, and Nikki D’Agostino on sax (with past players like Andrea Sicco and Nicholas John Stevens). Dropping fire like their 2022 self-titled debut LP on Bang! Records, the recent *Permafrost b/w Mass Production* split with Lydia Lunch, and *The Spectator*, these guys keep the underground sleaze alive.
