Dave Davies is an English musician, singer, and songwriter best known as the lead guitarist and co-lead vocalist of the rock band The Kinks. Born in Muswell Hill, London, in 1947, Davies began playing guitar at a young age and formed The Kinks with his younger brother, Ray, in 1964. Known for his distinctive guitar playing and songwriting contributions, Davies has written or co-written several of The Kinks' biggest hits, including "You Really Got Me," "All Day and All of the Night," and "Lola." After The Kinks disbanded in 1996, Davies embarked on a solo career and has released several albums, including "Bug" (2002) and "Rippin' Up New York City" (2018).
