A Curious Voynich

A Curious Voynich is a post-hardcore quintet based in Bogor City, Indonesia. This band emerged as an alter-ego project of two individuals who had previously worked in different musical entities. Inspired by the enigmatic Voynich Manuscript, discovered by Wilfrid M. Voynich in 1912, A Curious Voynich aims to echo the manuscript's mystique and controversy through their music. Initially shrouded in anonymity, the band focuses on creating a sound that blends post-hardcore, indie rock textures, and alternative metal aggressiveness, reflecting themes of melancholy, personal life, and mythological questions inspired by works like JRR Tolkien's "The Silmarillion" and films such as "Stranger Things" and "Silent Hill."

Recent releases include "The Encryption Of Secret Messages," "Orbis Alius Season One," "Meninges," "Orbis Alius Season Two," and others, showcasing their evolving musical concepts and collaborations. Current members include notable figures like Gustmar Helmy, Dito Buditrianto, Indra Julianto, Rifal, and Omadith, each bringing diverse backgrounds from Indonesian music scenes.
