Spacehog

Spacehog is a British alternative rock band that made a significant impact in the 1990s with their unique blend of glam rock and post-grunge sounds. Formed in New York City in 1994 by English brothers Royston Langdon (lead vocals and bass guitar) and Antony Langdon (guitar, vocals), along with Richard Steel (lead guitar) and Jonny Cragg (drums), they quickly cemented their place in the music scene with their debut album "Resident Alien" in 1995. The album's hit single, "In the Meantime," became a defining track of the era, showcasing Royston's distinctive vocals and the band's ability to merge catchy melodies with a spacey rock vibe.

Following the success of "Resident Alien," Spacehog continued to release records that commingled various influences, from British glam to heavy American rock. "The Chinese Album" arrived in 1998, demonstrating the band's capacity for growth and experimentation within their sound. In 2001, they released "The Hogyssey," proving their lasting ability to evolve while maintaining the core aspects of their signature style. After a hiatus, Spacehog returned to the music world with "As It is On Earth" in 2013, which reflected the band's maturity and retained the eclectic, anthemic qualities that they had always been known for. Throughout their career, Spacehog managed to maintain a cult following, and their work, punctuated by their creative peak in the '90s, has been noted for its contribution to alternative rock's diverse landscape.
