Candlebox is an American rock band that was originally formed in Seattle, Washington, in December 1991. The band arose to fame during the grunge movement of the early 1990s, although their sound leaned more towards a hard rock/blues fusion rather than the typical grunge style. Candlebox gained widespread acclaim with their self-titled debut album, released in 1993, which featured hits like "Far Behind" and "You." The success of their first album led them to become one of the more prominent bands in the post-grunge era of rock music.
Despite an initial breakup in 2000, Candlebox reunited in 2006 and has continued to record and tour. Over the years, the band's lineup has seen various changes with Kevin Martin, the lead vocalist, being the consistent member throughout their evolution. With a career spanning over three decades, Candlebox has released numerous albums complemented by compelling live performances, as exemplified in their recent offering "Live at The Neptune." The band's sound has evolved over time, yet they have managed to remain relevant by continuously producing heartfelt and hard-hitting music, with recent releases such as "Wolves" and the reflective acoustic version of "Riptide."
