Fabio Luisi is an Italian conductor who has led some of the world's most prestigious orchestras, including the Metropolitan Opera, the Vienna Philharmonic, and the Staatskapelle Dresden. Born in Genoa, Italy, in 1959, Luisi studied piano and conducting at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan. He made his conducting debut in 1984 and quickly gained recognition for his musicality and technical skill. Luisi has a wide-ranging repertoire that spans from the Baroque era to contemporary music, and he is particularly known for his interpretations of Italian opera and German Romantic music.
