Florin Szigeti

Florin Szigeti is a notable violinist and founding member of the prestigious Enescu Quartet. He settled in France with the quartet in 1979 and has had a distinguished career in both performance and education. Szigeti won the Bucharest National Violin Competition and first prize in violin and chamber music at the Paris Conservatoire. With the Enescu Quartet, he won the Paris International Chamber Music Competition. He has taught at the Paris Conservatoire, the Paris Regional Conservatoire, and the École Normale de Musique de Paris, imparting his expertise to numerous performers. Szigeti has also been a judge for international competitions and has performed in over 2000 concerts as a concertmaster of chamber music and orchestras.

As a part of the Enescu Quartet, Szigeti has contributed to a wide range of recordings, including works by Vierne, Debussy, Mozart, Bartók, and Dvorak. His performances have been recognized with prestigious awards such as the Grand Prix de la Disque and the Diapason d'Or. With his extensive teaching experience and illustrious performance history, Szigeti continues to inspire musicians worldwide.
