Love Crushed Velvet

Love Crushed Velvet is a rock band from New York City, formed in 2008. The group is led by lead singer and songwriter A.L.X., who collaborates with a variety of musicians for different projects. Initially, A.L.X. worked with drummer Thommy Price (known for his work with Billy Idol and Joan Jett) and other notable musicians like Jimi Bones and Enzo Penizzotto. The band released their self-titled debut album in 2011, which was mixed by producer Dave Bascombe. Over time, Love Crushed Velvet has evolved to incorporate diverse musical styles and players, often blending alternative, glam, and classic rock sounds.

In recent years, the band has continued to release new music, including the album "Souls and the Barren Heart." This work reflects their post-punk influences and captures the energy of urban life in New York. A.L.X.'s approach to music emphasizes spontaneity and collaboration, often assembling different groups of musicians for various projects. Despite several lineup changes, A.L.X. remains the consistent creative force behind Love Crushed Velvet. Their music is characterized by layered textures and melodies that reflect the diverse musical influences of its members.
