Ancient Infinity Orchestra

Ancient Infinity Orchestra is a vibrant, community-focused jazz ensemble from the creatively rich city of Leeds in the North of England, led by double-bassist and composer Ozzy Moysey. With a lineup that often shifts between 14 and 15 members, the group brings together an exciting mix of instruments—double basses, drums, strings, woodwinds, harp, piano, and percussion—creating a lush, expansive sound rooted in spiritual jazz traditions. Their music, as heard on albums like River of Light, draws inspiration from luminaries like Pharoah Sanders and Alice and John Coltrane, while also carrying a distinctly Northern English vibe reminiscent of labelmates Matthew Halsall and Alabaster DePlume.

Formed in 2018, the Orchestra stayed under the radar as local favorites until signing with Gondwana Records in 2023 and releasing their acclaimed debut, River of Light, which quickly drew international attention. Their approach is all about communal music-making and joyous togetherness, with live recordings often featuring additional singers and friends, emphasizing warmth, honesty, and celebrating the act of creation. In recent years, Ancient Infinity Orchestra has graced major festivals across the UK and Europe, expanding their audience and earning praise for their heartfelt, meditative, and confidently deep sound.
