Fifi Rafiatou

Fifi Rafiatou, born Djariatou Adjayi in 1965 in Atakpamé, Togo, is a pioneering Afro-zouk and salsa artist often called the "Diva of Togolese music." Starting her career with a 1985 debut 45rpm release, she gained international recognition through awards like the 1990 Tabala d'Or in Paris and later became known for albums such as *Motus* (1996) and *Le Défi* (2007). Her recent work includes the introspective 2022 single *La Solitude*, while earlier hits like *Djofè (Laissez-moi faire)* and *Nwassa (J'ai peur)* showcase her blend of upbeat rhythms and emotive vocals. Beyond music, she launched her own champagne brand and remains an influential figure in West African music.

With a career spanning nearly four decades, Fifi has performed across borders and earned pan-African accolades, including the Afro Vision award. Her discography reflects both cultural pride and personal storytelling, often featuring harmonica accents—a signature touch in her genre-defying sound. Recent releases like *Message Aux Nations Unies* (2007) and *La Solitude* continue her tradition of merging danceable grooves with thoughtful lyricism.
