The Transgressions

**The Transgressions** were a raucous garage punk duo hailing from Portland, Oregon, known for their raw, lo-fi energy and DIY spirit. Active in the early-to-mid 2000s, the band featured Brian T. Abuse (vocals, guitar) and a rotating cast of drummers, hammering out fast, gritty tracks that blended punk aggression with catchy, fuzzed-out hooks. Their releases, like the split *The Transgressions/The Credentials* (2003) and singles such as *Fucked Up* and *Stop Wasting My Time*, epitomized their scrappy sound, often pressed on 7-inch vinyl through indie labels like Broken Rekids.

Touring dive bars and house shows, The Transgressions built a cult following for their unapologetically loud, chaotic live sets. Though they disbanded by 2008, their music remains a time capsule of 2000s underground punk, celebrated by fans of acts like The Spits or The Oblivians. No frills, all fun—just how they liked it.
