Panda Riot

Panda Riot is a Chicago-based dream pop band known for crafting lush soundscapes blending elements of shoegaze, indie rock, and electronica. Formed in Philadelphia in 2005 by Brian Cook and Rebecca Scott, the duo initially started as a film project before their musical chemistry led them to shift focus to the band. They relocated to Chicago where they expanded their lineup and honed their sound. Over the years, Panda Riot's music has evolved to feature dense layers of reverberated guitars, airy synthesizers, hypnotic rhythms, and ethereal vocals.

With releases like "Northern Automatic Music" (2013) and "Infinity Maps" (2017), Panda Riot has carved out a distinctive niche in the dream pop genre. Their sound continued to bloom with singles such as "E.S.P" and "Extra Cosmic," with the latter exuding an otherworldly aura characteristic of their sonic identity. The band's emphasis on immersive sound and texture is prevalent throughout their discography, and they maintain a loyal fan base drawn to their atmospheric tunes. Their EP "Far and Near" and the single "She Dares All Things" maintain the band's consistent output of mesmerizing music, showcasing their ability to envelop listeners in a cocoon of sonic bliss.
