Viv and the Sect

Viv & The Sect is a band from Mexico City, formed in 2012. The group initially consisted of Aleph Aguilar, Rho Moran, and Israel Lopez, with a sound heavily influenced by '60s R&B and Garage music. After Lopez left, the band welcomed John Moss as lead singer and rhythm guitarist, which led to the development of key songs like "My Love Is Real" and "This Will Pass." These tracks defined the band's style and sound. Over time, the lineup evolved to include Mario Anguiano on bass, Sergio Herrera on vocals and rhythm guitar, and Wacco Fuzz on keys. Viv & The Sect gained recognition in the Mexican underground scene, sharing stages with notable bands and eventually signing with Get Hip Recordings to release their debut album, "This Will Pass," which features a raw, edgy sound reminiscent of early Garage Punk bands.

Their recent releases include tracks like "Aleluya," "Wake Up," "Easy Love," and the title track from their debut album, "This Will Pass." The band's music reflects a strong connection to vintage influences while maintaining a contemporary edge, appealing to fans of classic Garage and Psych sounds.
