Sons Of Apollo
Sons of Apollo are an American progressive metal supergroup formed in 2017. The band’s lineup features vocalist Jeff Scott Soto, guitarist Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal, bassist Billy Sheehan, drummer Mike Portnoy, and keyboardist Derek Sherinian—five well-known players from across the hard rock and prog world.
They debuted with *Psychotic Symphony* (2017) and followed it with *MMXX* (2020), mixing heavy riffs, big melodies, and flashy musicianship with a modern prog-metal edge. The group also put a strong emphasis on live performance, documented on releases like *Live With the Plovdiv Psychotic Symphony* (2019), recorded with an orchestra in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
