The Oxys

The Oxys are a gritty and energetic band from Austin, Texas, known for their raw blend of late-70s gutter rock, punk, and power pop. Formed in 2021 during the pandemic by guitarist Jason “Ginchy” Kottwitz (formerly of Dead Boys and Sylvain Sylvain) and vocalist Phil Davis, the band quickly made a name for themselves with sharp hooks and a no-nonsense attitude. Their songwriting delves into intense themes like obsession, societal critique, and survival, all wrapped in a sound that nods to punk greats like The Dead Boys, New York Dolls, and The Stooges.

The Oxys’ debut full-length album came out in late 2022, followed by well-received releases like *A Date With The Oxys* and *Generation Irrelevant*. Their lineup features seasoned musicians including Gabe Von Asher on bass and Chris Alaniz on drums, who also played with Ginchy in previous projects. With infectious energy and brutal honesty in their songs, The Oxys have been winning fans with explosive live shows and a relentless work ethic, firmly establishing themselves in the punk and rock scene.
