Das Beat

Das Beat is a Berlin-based duo formed during the 2020 lockdown, consisting of actress and vocalist Eddie Rabenberger and Agor of Blue Hawaii. Eddie hails from a small town in Bavaria, while Agor moved to Berlin from Montreal in 2018. Their music blends German new wave, Italo disco, indie, and dance elements, with Eddie's vocals often switching between German and English. The duo's debut EP, *Identität*, was released via Arbutus Records and features a dynamic mix of ethereal synths, guitars, and percussion, all tied together by a strong danceable pulse.

Das Beat's sound is characterized by playful lyrics and winding atmospherics, drawing inspiration from a variety of musical influences. Their creative process often involves improvisation and collaboration, resulting in unique tracks like "Bubble" and "Ariadne," which Eddie is particularly proud of. Following their debut, Das Beat continued to evolve with releases like "Paradise of Lies," further solidifying their distinctive sound in the music scene.
