Ugly Boys

**Ugly Boys** is a scrappy indie rock side project formed by members of Vancouver-based band Peach Pit (Neil Smith and Chris Vanderkooy). Born out of a love for raw, lo-fi garage rock, the duo cranks out fuzzy, DIY-minded tracks that swap Peach Pit’s polished surf-pop for grit and distortion. Their sound leans into irreverent energy, with lyrics often tackling self-deprecating humor, messy relationships, and Gen-Z angst. Releases like *Babe Why*, *Do You Like Me?*, and *Bad Language* showcase their knack for pairing catchy, grungy riffs with candid, conversational vocals. While still a low-key venture compared to their main band, Ugly Boys have carved out a niche for unapologetically rough-around-the-edges jams that feel like late-night garage hangouts cranked to 11.
