Ashbury Heights

Ashbury Heights is a Swedish synthpop duo known for their unique blend of electronic melodies and darkly poetic lyrics. Initially formed in 2005 by Anders Hagström and Yasmine Uhlin, the group made its mark on the alternative music scene with a distinct sound that mixes gothic aesthetic with danceable synth beats. After Uhlin left the group, the duo went through several lineup changes, settling for a period with singer Kari Berg alongside Hagström. Their work is characterized by its critical storytelling, intertwining themes of emotional turmoil with biting societal commentary, enclosed in catchy and atmospheric electro-pop.

The duo has garnered a dedicated fanbase through a prolific output of albums and singles. With releases such as "The Looking Glass Society" in 2015 and "The Victorian Wallflowers" in 2018, Ashbury Heights has continued to evolve their sound while maintaining the sharp lyricism and rich synthesizer landscapes that define their music. Their latest releases, including "Ghosts Electric" and "To The Heart," showcase their ability to stay relevant and impactful within the synthpop genre, layering modern production on top of nostalgic elements to create a sound that is both fresh and reminiscent of their beginnings in the early 2000s. They have also made a mark with remixes like "High and Low (Ashbury Heights Remix)," bringing their distinctive touch to the works of other artists.
