Fursaxa

Fursaxa is the musical alias of Tara Burke, an American avant-garde musician known for her ethereal soundscapes and a wholly unique take on psychedelic folk music. Burke began her career as a member of the band UN in the mid-1990s, but Fursaxa emerged as her solo project at the turn of the millennium. Building sonic cathedrals out of layered vocals, harmonium, guitar, cello, and other instruments, Fursaxa's music is characterized by haunting melodies and a mystical exploration of sound.

The quality of Fursaxa's discography is evident in releases like "Mycorrhizae Realm" and "Amulet," which both offer a hypnotic blend of drone-infused folk and meditative compositions. Earlier works such as "Alone In The Dark Wood" and "Lepidoptera" showcase Burke's ability to weave tapestries of sound that are at once otherworldly and deeply rooted in the folk tradition. With each release, Fursaxa has cemented its place within the underground music scene, captivating audiences with rich, textural pieces that defy easy categorization and command immersive listening.
