Kassav'
Kassav' is a pioneering band from the French Caribbean that revolutionized the sound of zouk music. Formed in 1979 by Pierre-Edouard Décimus and Jacob Desvarieux, the group blended traditional Guadeloupean and Martinican rhythms with contemporary funk, rock, and electronic elements, creating the infectious, high-energy style that zouk became known for. Their hit song "Zouk La Sé Sèl Médikaman Nou Ni" became an anthem that helped spread the genre worldwide. Over the decades, Kassav' has remained a dominant force in Caribbean music, known for their electrifying live performances and their role in popularizing Antillean culture on the global stage.
