Flamin' Groovies

**Flamin' Groovies** are a rollicking rock outfit that’s been kicking out jams since their 1965 formation in San Francisco. Born from the garage rock scene, they blended raw energy with British Invasion melodies and power-pop hooks, becoming cult favorites. Founding members Cyril Jordan (guitar) and Roy Loney (vocals) led the charge early on, with Chris Wilson stepping into vocal duties later. Their 1976 album *Shake Some Action* became a touchstone for both punk and indie rock, thanks to its jangly guitars and infectious energy. Despite lineup shifts and a breakup in the ’80s, they roared back with reunions in the 2010s, proving their timeless appeal. Recent live releases like *Rockin’ The Roundhouse* and *Let It Rock: Live From The San Francisco Civic Center 1980* capture their raucous stage magic, while *Now* (2017) showed they’ve still got that sneery, melodic punch. A must-know for fans of unpretentious, riff-driven rock ’n’ roll.
