Crypt Monarch

Crypt Monarch is a stoner-doom metal band hailing from San José, Costa Rica, formed in 2020. They quickly made their mark with a dark, heavy sound blending slow, sludgy riffs and a thick, resinous atmosphere reminiscent of classic doom and stoner bands like Sleep and Electric Wizard, while incorporating their own mystical and occult themes. Their debut album, *The Necronaut* (2021), introduced fans to their richly textured, slowly building compositions filled with menacing tones and deeply atmospheric elements.

Their 2025 album *Codex Pestilentia* continues the story of an undead king waging war from beyond, delivering heavy, down-tuned riffs, dual harsh vocals, and a blend of doom metal with grunge and psychedelic influences. Known for long, hypnotic songs and an organic old-school sound, Crypt Monarch has carved out a distinctive niche in the heavy underground scene with a potent combination of occult lyrics and doom-stoner heaviness.
