Fernando Falcão

Fernando Falcão was a multifaceted artist, known as a poet, percussionist, singer, and composer. Born in Paraíba, Brazil, Falcão was active in the student movement during Brazil's military regime, which led him to live in exile in Paris for 12 years. During his time in Paris, he created various percussion instruments and recorded music. One of his notable albums is "Memória das Águas," which was recorded in Paris in 1979. His work often reflects a deep connection with folk and onomatopoeic sounds.

Recent releases, such as "Curimão" and "Barracas Barrocas," highlight his continued influence in music circles, blending traditional elements with innovative approaches. Despite being a significant figure in his own right, Falcão's life and work were overshadowed by larger cultural and political movements, leaving much of his legacy to be rediscovered by new generations of music enthusiasts.
