The Pink Fairies
The Pink Fairies were the ultimate DIY anarcho-rock crew of the early '70s UK underground scene. Emerging from the ashes of the Deviants, these proto-punk psychedelic warriors cranked out fuzzed-out jams that blended garage rock energy with counterculture rebellion. Known for crashing festivals (including Mick Farren's infamous Phun City) and playing benefits for radical causes, their live shows were legendary chaos fueled by the twin guitar attack of Paul Rudolph and Larry Wallis, anchored by drummer Russell Hunter. While their studio albums like *Never Never Land* became cult classics, it's their raucous live recordings like *Live Fuzz 1971* that truly capture their "think loud, play faster" ethos. The band's spirit lives on through recent archival releases and collaborations, proving their freak flag still flies high for new generations of rock rebels.
