From Zero was an American hard rock band hailing from Chicago, Illinois. The band was forged in the late 1990s, coming into the spotlight during the early 2000s with a sound characterized by a fusion of alternative metal, post-grunge, and a touch of melodic nu metal. Comprised of vocalist Jett, guitarists Joe Pettinato and Pete Capizzi, bassist Rob Likey, and drummer Kid, From Zero made their mark with dynamic live performances and a fervent following in the Midwest rock scene.
The group's debut album, "One Nation Under," released in 2001, showcased their aggressive yet polished style, heavy riffs, and introspective lyrics, earning them a dedicated fanbase and critical attention. This album included tracks like "Smack," which resonated with the tension and angst of the era's youth culture. Following the success of their debut, the band put together a special release for their loyal supporters titled "One Nation Under Bonus CD," featuring additional content that gave further depth to their artistic scope. "My So-Called Life," one of their most recognized singles, captures the raw energy and emotional weight that characterized the band's material and cemented their legacy within the hard rock genre of their time. Despite their potential and growing success, From Zero disbanded in the mid-2000s, leaving behind a brief but impactful discography for fans and the rock community.
