Ternipe

Ternipe is a Hungarian Roma folk group formed in 1989 by young musicians from Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County and Budapest. Their mission is to collect and revive traditional Roma folk music—both instrumental and vocal—and make it accessible to a wide audience. The band members speak Romani and focus on preserving authentic folk traditions, with a musical style influenced by Balkan and Far Eastern folk elements. They are well known in Hungary for their dedication to keeping Roma cultural heritage alive through their music.

Over the years, Ternipe has released several albums showcasing their traditional repertoire, including titles like *Pe Mande O Cheri* and *Hungarian Gypsy Music*. They also collaborate with other artists, as in the recent song *Igyunk még egy pálinkát* with Mr. Andreas. Their work blends traditional Roma sounds with contemporary influences while maintaining the cultural authenticity that defines their music.
