Balkan brass is a high-energy, dance-driven style rooted in the Romani and village band traditions of Southeast Europe, built around blaring trumpets, tubas, trombones, and punchy percussion. It favors fast, propulsive rhythms (often in odd meters), rapid-fire melodies, call-and-response lines, and exuberant improvisation that can shift from wedding-procession euphoria to smoky, minor-key lament in a moment.
