Lucknow Pact

Lucknow Pact is a Gothenburg-based band formed in 2002 by Markus Hasselblom, Mischa Hayman, Andreas Hartman, and Lars Nordgren. Carl-Magnus Berger soon joined the group on keyboards, expanding their sound. Initially, they aimed to elevate the 80's and 90's indie pop genre by combining simple pop harmonies with vibrant rhythms, jangling guitars, and passionate vocals. The band gained recognition in the Swedish indie scene after releasing their first single, "A Few Drinks, A Few Laughs," in 2004. They were signed by Hit In Yo Soul Records and released their debut album, "Youth Is for the Old," in 2005. Over time, the lineup changed, with Lars Nordgren leaving and Therese "Tammy" Karlsson joining as a drummer. Later additions included Fredrik Eriksson, as Carl-Magnus Berger and Andreas Hartman departed.

Lucknow Pact continued to create and release new material, including the album "Open Your Arms" in 2010. Their music often blends traditional pop elements with modern sounds, as seen in tracks like "Dowland" and "Forever Young, Forever Poor." The band has toured internationally, enjoying a loyal fan base in places like Spain. Their recent releases include "Waiting in the Sun" and "Open Your Arms," showcasing their evolution in the indie pop scene.
