Funkstörung

Funkstörung is a German electronic music duo known for their glitchy, experimental sound that blends elements of IDM (Intelligent Dance Music), hip hop, and techno. Hailing from Rosenheim, Bavaria, the group originally consisted of Michael Fakesch and Christian de Luca (aka Chris de Luca), and later became the pairing of Fakesch and Florian Zwietnig. They gained recognition in the late '90s and early 2000s for their intricate production style and remix work, offering reworks for artists like Björk, Wu-Tang Clan, and Plaid.

Funkstörung's early releases, including their celebrated debut album Additional Productions, showcased their unique approach to sound design—often deconstructing tracks to abstract forms while retaining emotional depth. Their self-titled 2015 album Funkstörung marked a return after a long hiatus, featuring a more melodic and pop-influenced direction while still rooted in their signature glitch aesthetic. Throughout their career, Funkstörung has been praised for pushing the boundaries of electronic music and maintaining a distinctive sonic identity.
