Ask Carol

Ask Carol is a grungy alt-pop duo from Norway, consisting of members Ask and Carol. The two musicians became friends after high school while studying music in southern Norway. They began discussing the idea of forming a band, but it took about seven years for them to finally start working on it. In the summer of 2015, they spent time in a cabin in the Norwegian mountains, where they created their first songs. Ask Carol officially formed in 2016, and their first concert was at a small blues club in Seoul, South Korea, called Strange Fruit. At that time, Carol was known as a guitarist-for-hire in the Oslo music scene but had never sung in front of people before. The duo chose their band name by combining their first names, with "Ask" being a real Norwegian name rooted in Norse mythology.

Ask Carol is known for their high-energy music and intense sound. They have managed to handle many aspects of their career independently, including self-booking tours and creating music videos. Some of their notable releases include "Wind In My Hair," "Desert," "Ohio," and "Control You." Despite the challenges they faced, such as Carol's initial lack of singing experience and Ask's inexperience with drums, they have persevered through extensive practice.
