Jerónimo Giménez, a Spanish composer and conductor, is best known for his contributions to the zarzuela, a genre of Spanish musical theater. Born in 1854, Giménez studied music at the Madrid Conservatory and later became a conductor at the Teatro Real. He composed over 50 zarzuelas, including the popular "El Húsar de la Guardia" and "El Barbero de Sevilla." Giménez's music is characterized by its melodic beauty, rhythmic vitality, and colorful orchestration. He is considered one of the most important composers of the Spanish zarzuela.
