NHKyx is the alias of Japanese experimental electronic musician and illustrator Kohei Matsunaga, known for his prolific output and techno-focused projects. Hailing from Osaka, Matsunaga began making music in the early '90s after studying architecture, blending influences from hardcore techno and rap into his boundary-pushing sound. Under the NHKyx moniker, he’s released works like *yx aka 1ch aka Solo* (2011) and the *Kasm* series, including *Kasm04* (2025), often associated with labels like Skam Records and Kasm. His live performances and recordings prioritize raw energy and experimental textures, cementing his reputation in underground electronic circles.
