Humpe Humpe

Humpe Humpe was a German pop duo consisting of sisters Annette Humpe and Inga Humpe. Active from 1985 to 1988, they released two studio albums: "Humpe Humpe" in 1985 and "Swimming with Sharks" in 1987. The duo was known for their catchy pop sound and memorable music videos, such as the split-screen video for their single "Yamaha." While they were widely recognized as Humpe Humpe in Germany, they were marketed as Swimming with Sharks in the UK to avoid potential misunderstandings due to the name's connotations in English.

During their time together, the sisters wrote and produced most of their songs, showcasing their talent as both musicians and producers. After Humpe Humpe disbanded, both Annette and Inga pursued other musical projects. Annette went on to work as a successful producer and later formed the duo Ich + Ich, while Inga continued her career as a singer and producer, eventually joining the band 2raumwohnung.
