Stefano Bagliano is an Italian recorder wizard and conductor born in Genova, who kicked off his career with a diploma from the Conservatory Pollini in Padua. He honed his skills studying with recorder legends like Frans Brüggen, Walter Van Hauwe, Kees Boeke, and Pedro Memelsdorff, plus orchestral conducting with Fabrizio Dorsi, snagging first prizes in national contests along the way.
He's built a killer international rep, dazzling audiences as a soloist at spots like Carnegie Hall, Gasteig in Munich, and Tokyo's Ishibashi Memorial Hall, while leading his Baroque ensemble Collegium Pro Musica (which he founded in 1990) with stars like Emma Kirkby. Bagliano's dropped over two dozen solo recordings, diving deep into Baroque faves from Vivaldi, Telemann, Bach, and more, and he's been the president and art director of Genoa's Festival Internazionale "Le Vie del Barocco" since 1994.
