Trouble Books

**Trouble Books** is a cozy indie project rooted in the creative partnership of Keith and Linda Johnsen, who formed the band in Akron, Ohio, around 2006. Known for their warm, lo-fi soundscapes, they blend gentle melodies with experimental textures—think warbly synths, hushed vocals, and field recordings of rain or clinking dishes. Their music feels like flipping through a scrapbook of everyday magic, celebrating mundane moments with lush, collage-like arrangements. Over the years, they’ve collaborated with artists like Mark McGuire (of Emeralds) and released gems such as *Concatenating Fields* (2020) and *Endless Pool* (2023), which continue their tradition of crafting quietly adventurous pop. After a hiatus in the mid-2010s, Trouble Books returned, proving their knack for turning life’s quiet details into something beautifully resonant.
